Separate loose skin from localized fat
The arm lift page describes removal of excess upper-arm skin and fat. The thigh lift page describes several approaches to excess thigh skin, including inner, outer and smaller targeted procedures. Liposuction and BodyTite appear elsewhere in the practice menu.
Ask the surgeon which tissue is responsible for the concern you want addressed. If the main issue is loose skin, ask how the proposed procedure deals with it and what limits would apply to treatment that does not remove skin.
Understand the incision pattern
The location and extent of skin removal affect where the scars will be. Ask to see the proposed incision on a diagram and discuss how it relates to your priorities, usual clothing and the amount of change being considered.
- Which part of the arm or thigh would be treated?
- Would liposuction be added, and what would it contribute?
- What restrictions may apply to walking, lifting and exercise?
- What appointments are needed to review incisions and healing?
Plan support for everyday tasks
Ask about the practical effect of treating both sides or combining an arm or thigh lift with another operation. Discuss transport, dressing, household tasks and work requirements before scheduling. Request guidance specific to the planned procedure rather than relying on the experience of a different body-contouring patient.
