Separate volume from position
The practice describes breast augmentation as a way to change size and shape, a breast lift as reshaping and elevating breast tissue and nipple position, and fat grafting as transferring your own fat to the breasts. A consultation may discuss one procedure or a combination.
Explain whether your main concern is size, loss of fullness, drooping, asymmetry or a change after pregnancy or weight loss. Ask which part of the proposed operation addresses each concern.
Compare the details that affect your choice
For implants, ask about the proposed type, size, placement, incision and ongoing follow-up. For fat transfer, ask about the donor areas, the amount of change being planned and uncertainty about retained volume. For a lift, ask about the incision pattern and anticipated scar locations.
- Would a lift be needed to achieve the position being discussed?
- What can augmentation alone change in my case?
- What longer-term monitoring or further surgery might be needed?
- How would the plan affect work, lifting and help at home?
Confirm the combined scope
If a quote includes both a lift and augmentation, request the procedure names and costs together. Ask to see gallery cases with the same combination so that the photographs match the plan you are evaluating.
