Separate upper-lid, lower-lid and brow concerns
The official eyelid surgery page covers upper and lower blepharoplasty. Upper-lid surgery concerns tissue around the upper eyelid; lower-lid surgery addresses a different area and can involve different incisions and tissue adjustments. The brow lift page concerns brow and forehead position.
If your concern is a heavy or hooded appearance, ask the surgeon to explain the contribution of the eyelid itself and the brow above it. An examination can help clarify why one procedure, both procedures or another approach is being discussed.
Ask about the plan for each eye area
The practice describes more than one lower-lid approach. Ask which would be considered for you and why. If both upper and lower lids are included, request a clear explanation of each part of the surgery.
- Where would the incisions be placed?
- Will skin, fat or other tissue be removed or repositioned?
- How should existing eye conditions and previous procedures be reviewed?
- What appointments are needed for early recovery and any suture removal?
Compare photographs with their context
When reviewing the gallery, check whether the example includes a brow lift, facelift or other treatment alongside eyelid surgery. Ask how long after surgery the photograph was taken. These details make it easier to discuss the particular change you want assessed.
