Plan around the actual procedure combination

The practice’s facial surgery pages describe several procedures that may be discussed together, including face and neck lifting, eyelid surgery and facial fat transfer. A recovery plan should identify exactly which operations are being performed.

Ask the clinical team to distinguish the early recovery period, the point at which you may be comfortable being seen socially, and the longer period in which swelling or scars may continue to change. Those milestones can mean different things.

Arrange the practical details before surgery

The practice describes direct postoperative contact and regular check-ins. Confirm how this works for your appointment, including the first review, any dressing or suture visits, and whom to contact outside office hours.

  • Will a responsible adult need to collect you and stay with you?
  • How much assistance should you arrange with meals, household tasks or childcare?
  • When should you ask about driving, work, exercise and travel?
  • Which symptoms should prompt immediate contact with the surgical team?

Allow room for your follow-up plan to change

Keep important events and travel plans separate from an assumed recovery deadline. Ask when the team can assess your progress and provide individual clearance. Review stories written a few days after surgery and later updates as different stages of experience, rather than interchangeable measures of a final result.
