Mansher Singh Reviews Facial fat transfer and fillers: comparing the treatment plans

Questions about volume, donor areas, repeat treatment and follow-up.

Updated October 16, 2026 · Facial sculpting

Both discussions concern volume, but the procedures differ

Dr. Singh’s facial fat grafting page describes collecting fat from another body area, processing it and transferring it to selected areas of the face. The filler page describes injectable products, particularly hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvéderm.

Ask which part of your concern relates to volume and whether loose skin or another feature needs a separate assessment. A conversation about fuller cheeks or under-eye hollows should identify the exact area and the intended change.

Include the donor area in a fat-transfer discussion

Fat grafting involves both the area that supplies the fat and the facial treatment area. Clarify what is included in the procedure and the recovery plan for each. For fillers, ask about the specific product, treatment amount and how follow-up is arranged.

  • What change can reasonably be planned for this area?
  • What uncertainty is there about how much transferred fat remains?
  • Could further treatment be needed, and how would it be assessed?
  • What are the risks and options if the result is uneven or does not match the plan?

Compare the longer-term commitment

Ask how repeat treatments, additional visits and possible adjustments affect the total cost and schedule. Avoid comparing only the initial price or appointment length. Your consultation should explain both the immediate procedure and what later care may involve.
