About BOTOX
Injectable treatment that temporarily relaxes selected muscles. The practice discusses facial lines and other treatment areas.
Muscle activity and facial lines
The official BOTOX page describes temporarily relaxing selected muscles to address movement-related facial lines. It discusses areas such as the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet, along with other possible uses. The particular treatment area, indication and product plan need to be established during consultation.
Planning the injection appointment
Give the clinician a history of previous injectable treatments, including the areas, dates and response when known. Explain what you want to change and how much movement you would like to retain. Ask how the proposed dose and placement relate to those goals. BOTOX and fillers have different roles: the practice describes fillers as adding volume rather than relaxing the muscles responsible for movement.
