About Neck Lift
Surgery addressing loose neck skin, excess fat and neck muscle banding.
Skin, fat and muscle concerns
The official neck lift page describes surgery for loose neck skin, excess fat, neck bands and changes around the lower face and jawline. It discusses skin adjustment, fat contouring and work on the platysma muscle. The precise combination depends on the surgical plan; a neck lift is not synonymous with chin liposuction.
Comparing a neck-only plan with a combined operation
Ask whether the concern is primarily beneath the chin, along the neck or at the face-to-neck transition. This helps explain why the surgeon might discuss an isolated neck procedure or combine it with a facelift. Request an explanation of incision placement and the areas that would remain unchanged. Anesthesia choices and postoperative visits should be confirmed for that particular operation.

- Would the plan include work beneath the chin as well as around the ears?
- Why is a neck-only or combined facelift plan being recommended?
